Lumestar File Import Process

The LumeStar software has the ability to quickly import pre-defined data for each fixture during network definition and configuration. This is accomplished by the user supplying an import data file that contains information for each fixture in the network. This user supplied file uses a comma delimited csv file that must be properly named and formatted for use with the LumeStar software.

The naming convention is xxxx_GIS.csv where xxxx equals any user supplied name. The “_GIS.csv” ending is used as an identifier for the LumeStar software.

When the program first loads, it looks for the xxxx_GIS.csv file to exist in the LumeStar program folder. If the file exists, a lookup box is populated with the Poll ID and Description of each item. These items can then be selected by the user to quickly configure each device in the network.

The first line of the file contains the records description. The software requires this line to be present but the column names are only used for reference. The subsequent lines contain the 15 pieces of data that are used to populate the lookup dropdown box that is available when adding or changing a device definition.
