How can I transfer my IzoT Net Server/OpenLNS Server license to a new PC? (KB973)

You can safely transfer your IzoT Net Server (also known as OpenLNS Server) license from an old PC to a new PC using one of the three methods below.

 Choose one of the following:

1. Return license on old PC then activate on new PC:

On the old PC, use the Echelon License Wizard, in Step 1 select "Manage product licenses" and click next. In Step 2, change "Action" drop down box to "Return" and click next to continue.  Once you are done, use the Echelon License Wizard on the new PC.

2. Recover license on new PC: This is a two step process

a. On the new PC, use the Echelon License Wizard, Step 1 click the yellow "Show Advanced tasks", select "Recover license lost on an inaccessible computer" and click next.  Recovery causes the license to be in the returned state (that is, the license is not currently activated on any PC).

Caution: When you do a License Recovery, the old PC license is automatically deactivated so make sure you use the correct Activation Key or license key.

b. Once you recover the license you will need to activate the license on the new PC.

Note: there is a limited number of recoveries that you can do with each Activation key.

3. Ask Echelon credits@echelon.com to return your license then activate on new PC:

Tell us the Activation Key. Once we return the license then you can try to activate it again on the new PC

Background Information:

Each IzoT Net Server Activation key comes with one OpenLNS Server license
