This may occur if there is an incorrect or out-of-date program version. NS #38 error is raised when the program ID in the LNS device template does not match the program ID in the physical device. If the LNS device template is correct, then you might want to try to download the application again to the physical device. If, on the contrary, the device template is incorrect but the application in the physical device is fine, then you need to delete the LonMaker device shape and the device template (from the Network Explorer Window->Device Templates tab) and re-create them again so it matches the physical device.
